Inflation: Turkish Airlines increases wages

Turkish Airlines employees are to receive wage increases of around 64 percent. Although it initially sounds like a lot, it isn't, as inflation was recently at an incredible 67 percent and that in just one calendar month.

The runaway inflation is currently causing a lot of problems for many Turkish residents, as end customer prices sometimes rise daily or even several times a day. This means that wages become worth less month after month, even if they are increased. Inflation wipes out the plus.

Turkish Airlines has announced that it will pay employees around 64 percent more on average. At the same time, it was agreed with employee representatives that an annual inflation adjustment plus ten percent should be made from 2025.
