Citizens who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus or have recovered from illness can no longer be denied access to cultural events, bars or sports facilities.

The government enforced this decision on Sunday. Israel thus introduces relief for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. The Green Pass is supposed to act as the “entry ticket”. Because this stores all health information and serves as an indicator for the correctness of the data. The vaccination card can be issued online just a week after the second vaccination dose, according to the ORF. With this proof in their pocket, people are then allowed to visit gyms, hotels, theaters or stadiums again.

Health Minister Juli Edelstein wrote on Twitter that more than 3,2 million Israelis could now enjoy these benefits. “The green passport is gradually opening the country again,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday evening. The vaccination campaign in Israel is very advanced compared to other countries. The country with its 9,3 million inhabitants is considered a pioneer. Every citizen from the age of 16 can now be vaccinated.
