The Hanover Regional Court removes the doubts and makes it clear: Travel providers must make their customers clearly aware of the fact that they are entitled to a reimbursement.
This court decision was based on proceedings against the tour operator TUI. This, but also numerous other companies, had only indicated in the initial phase of the pandemic that customers would be entitled to a voucher or a rebooking in the event of canceled trips. And completely disregarded the statutory right to reimbursement. Failure to comply with the duty to provide information was punished in this case, but it was far from over. Because six other lawsuits are still pending in court, such as the travel portal Travel before 9 reported. Among other things, Condor, Easyjet and Eurowings are said to be among the defendants.
