The airline umbrella organization IATA has recertified PortGround GmbH at Leipzig/Halle Airport according to its CEIV Pharma seal of quality.

PortGround belongs to Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG and is a company specializing in aircraft and freight handling. Thanks to its CEIV Pharma certification, Leipzig/Halle Airport, Europe's third largest air freight hub, is able to process time-sensitive and temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments around the clock in accordance with IATA standards.

"The CEIV Pharma certification has been successfully expanding our business area since 2020, which we are consistently expanding in this area. Leipzig/Halle Airport has developed into an important hub for temperature-sensitive, pharmaceutical and medical goods and, thanks to a 24/7 operating license for cargo flights and a direct connection to the trans-European motorway and rail network, offers ideal conditions for shippers, forwarders and airlines". emphasizes Alexander König, Managing Director of PortGround GmbH.

The international classification CEIV stands for Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics. It confirms the reliable handling of sensitive pharmaceutical goods according to international standards.
