The long-term framework agreement between the Carinthian airline LILIAIR and Klagenfurt Airport is intended to ensure further economic security. The contract obliges Liliair to pay an advance payment of 1,7 million euros for the start of Klagenfurt airport operations.

Liliair and the airport were able to reach an agreement: a framework agreement, which is intended to ensure the profitability of the new airport, is scheduled for a period of 15 years. As part of this contract, the advance payment of 1,7 million euros was agreed by the Carinthian airline. This sum is intended to ensure the start of Klagenfurt Airport.

Liliair will in future offer seven weekly connections to Frankfurt Airport from Klagenfurt Airport. In addition, the cities of Hamburg (HAM) and Cologne-Bonn (CGN) are served twice a week. With this range of flights, the airline estimates its passenger volume at 60 passengers, who are to be transported from the starting point in Klagenfurt to the aforementioned destinations. The company is planning future developments: its route network is to be filled in addition to the destinations already offered by major cities. The virtual airline is expected to own eight aircraft in its fleet by 000.

The framework agreement between the two parties ensures that Klagenfurt Airport has its first economic foothold. The preliminary work that LILIAIR will carry out should enable extensive optimization and expansion of the airport offer. This should increase the attractiveness of Klagenfurt Airport: other airlines could also offer flights to and from Klagenfurt in the future.
