The German airline Lufthansa is planning to offer a larger range of seats on summer flights to the greater New York area in the future. Larger aircraft are to be used for flights to New York.

In this way, the decision is reached that 50 seats can now be offered on the route from Frankfurt to Newark instead of 344 seats. This is to be accomplished by the inclusion of the 747-8. Until then, it was considered customary to use the 787-9 to travel the route in question.

But not only this route is to be optimized in the future: the route Frankfurt-John F. Kennedy International Airport is now also to be managed by the Airbus A340, as aero.de can report.
