Falafel Tahini Salad, Crunchy Chicken Bowl, Bircher Muesli or apple crumble cake - plus a soft drink, a glass of wine, a drink or a coffee: Lufthansa Economy Class passengers on European flights can now choose from the “Onboard Delights” range.

The culinary range is available on cross-border European flights with a flight duration of 60 minutes or more. With the offer, the AUA mother is meeting customer requirements. The fresh dishes are freshly prepared daily by the catering company Gate Gourmet according to recipes from dean & david at the Frankfurt and Munich locations and updated every three months. The successful young catering company dean & david, based in Munich, is not only committed to the responsible handling of food and against packaging waste, but also signed the voluntary commitment to reduce meat / fish this year.

Lufthansa expands cooperation with Dallmayr

The traditional Munich company supplies the confectionery and patisserie specialties as well as the hot drinks for Onboard Delights. The offer includes a “project coffee” from Ethiopia, where Dallmayr supports various projects in the Dano region and thus creates perspectives for the local people.

There is also a large selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as snacks and nibbles. The fresh dishes are available from 5,50 euros, coffee and tea for 3 euros, soft drinks (500 ml) or beer (330 ml) for 3,50 euros. Small snacks are available from 2 euros. A water bottle and a chocolate surprise are given to guests free of charge.

“Lufthansa stands for sustainability and is thus also meeting customer requirements for the new catering concept. The focus is on the consistent selection of resource-conserving food and environmentally friendly packaging materials. For example, most of the fresh products are packaged in the PaperWise material. It consists of agricultural residual material and is produced with 100 percent renewable energies and thus CO2-neutral. By producing fresh products that are more in line with demand, less unused food has to be disposed of, ”the broadcast said.
