From 19 to 21 October, the air surveillance command carried out the exercise "Caveman Allegory 21" with other units of the air force.

The aim of the exercise was the interaction of forces and resources from all areas - from ground-based air defense to deployed radar systems to the flying elements. While the tactical flight maneuvers mainly took place in the Mur and Ennstal valleys, the air bases in Hörsching, Aigen im Ennstal and Zeltweg were already working on the next exercise scenario.

“Soldiers have to master their craft, in all situations, day and night. For this it is necessary to practice. This exercise also showed that our soldiers are professionals and are also innovative and motivated, ”said Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner.

A total of around 200 ground and air personnel took part in the exercise. Up to 15 aircraft, from the Eurofighter to the fixed-wing aircraft Pilatus PC-7, Pilatus PC-6 and Diamond DA 40 NG, to the helicopters S-70 "Black Hawk" and Agusta Bell 212, were used to achieve the exercise objective.
