The Greek charter airline Lumiwings intends to enter the scheduled business from Forli, Italy. First, a non-stop connection to Trapani is to be established. This is planned for the summer flight schedule 2021, but the company leaves an early admission in winter 2021 open.
Forli Airport has been looking for carriers who are active with larger aircraft for a long time. CH-Aviation.com writes that this was last offered by Wizzair around seven years ago. Due to the corona pandemic, Air Dolomiti postponed the connection to the Lufthansa hub in Munich to February 1, 2021.
Lumiwings currently has a single Boeing 737-300. This is to be stationed in Forli. In addition to Trapani, the Greek airline has also announced connections to Palermo, Katowice, Corfu, Santorini, Naples, Krakow, Prague, Rhodes, Heraklion, Kefallina, Odessa and Arad. However, the flights are not yet bookable. The carrier announces on its website that this should be the case soon. Lumiwings was founded in 2015 and has so far been active as a charter and ACMI provider.
