The Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure has not reached an agreement with either Ryanair or Wizz Air regarding possible flights from Maribor. Slovenia is the only EU country that is currently not served by the Irish low coster.

According to an official statement from the ministry, preliminary talks have taken place with both carriers. In this, the airport fees in Ljubljana were criticized. Maribor ist Spiel was brought as an alternative, but neither Wizz Air nor Ryanair could agree on a “deal”.
