In the French city of Marseille, Vitrolles train station and Marignane airport are to be connected by a cable car. The city council has already given the green light for the project.

Around three million euros are to be invested in the first expansion stage. The new cable car will connect the train station with the airport in around six minutes. There is also a highway to be crossed. It is planned that an intermediate station will be built at the Airbus Helicopters plant, which employs around 18.000 people. The project aims to relieve road traffic.
