London Luton Airport had around 2023 million passengers in May 1,5. Since the beginning of this year, it has had 6,2 million passengers. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the airport, which is mainly used by charter and low-cost airlines, was able to increase its traffic by 45 percent.

Amsterdam, Dublin, Istanbul, Lisbon and Paris proved particularly popular with passengers looking to take a city break over the bank holiday weekend, while Greece, Portugal, Spain and Turkey were among the busiest holiday destinations as the holiday season wrapped up towards the end of the month gained more and more momentum.

“May was another busy and exciting month for London Luton Airport, with continued growth in passenger numbers, new destinations on our departure boards and two eye-catching new restaurants. Combined with our easy and friendly service for passengers and the improved rail links provided by the newly launched Luton Airport Express, it is clear that LLA's appeal continues to grow,” said Alberto Martin, CEO of London Luton Airport.
