Netherlands: Public transport is on strike

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In the Netherlands, public transport will be on strike nationwide on Wednesday and Friday. Accordingly, local buses, trams and regional trains will be at a standstill on February 22nd and 24th.

Even after days of strikes, the Dutch trade unions FNV and CNV have not reached an agreement with the employers' association VWOV. The unions are threatening further strikes if their demands are not met. At the moment it looks like employers are not heeding the unions' demands. On Wednesday and Friday there should then be nationwide strikes in public transport. Travelers in the Netherlands must therefore expect delays and look for alternative transport options.
