Netherlands: Diamond robber in hiding was caught

In 2019, there was a cinematic robbery and theft of diamonds at Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport. Now one of the people behind it has been arrested again because after his conviction he went into hiding before the appeal hearing.

The 59-year-old was sentenced to 2021 years in prison in December 9,5. However, he managed to escape before the appeal hearing. According to a report by “De Telegraaf”, which was confirmed by the responsible public prosecutor’s office, the man has now been caught. Extradition proceedings to the Netherlands are currently underway.
