Oberpfaffenhofen: Travelcoup is accused of “illegal charter flights”

Advertising

The Bavarian Airport Oberpfaffenhofen is classified as a so-called special airport. This also has to do with the fact that it was once Dornier's factory airport. Now "Travelcoup" is causing trouble because the provider is accused of illegal charter flights.

In addition to general aviation, the Bavarian airport may be used for maintenance purposes. Business aviation is also allowed to use Oberpfaffenhofen Airport, but not for classic charter flights. According to a report in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Travelcoup is said to have done the latter.

Christian Juckenack, Operations Manager at Oberpfaffenhofen Airport, is now threatening legal action against the tour operator. The outcome of the dispute is still completely open. In terms of licensing, such charter flights would not be permitted from the special airport.
