The ÖVP member of parliament and cable car chairman Franz Hörl publicly demands that advertising for air travel should be banned. At the same time, he claims that the cable cars should be particularly environmentally friendly.

Vienna's airport manager and WKO aviation chairman Günther Ofner can't get anything out of it: "In view of the high dependence on foreign guests, neither conference, city nor festival tourism in Austria is possible without aviation, although in western Austria, but especially in Tyrol, the Winter tourism would not be economically viable without tourists arriving by plane. The realization of such discrimination would be a blow to all tourism in Austria. He also points out that air traffic would suffer from high taxes anyway.
