A new agreement has been in effect between the Polish airline Lot and Vilnius Airport since October 1, 2023. Part of this is that the non-stop connection to London City Airport is maintained.

Lithuania was able to benefit from Brexit in the area of financial services, as numerous fintechs have set up branches in Vilnius. The British provider Revolut can be cited as an example of this. For this reason, among others, Lithuania's capital airport believes that the London-City connection is particularly important. The financial center of Canary Wharf is only a few DLR stops away from the inner-city airport.

However, it is emphasized that the agreement should not be a subsidy agreement, but rather a development agreement. However, the carrier and the airport share the risk of loss on the London City route. In the past, this route was operated under PSO subsidies.
