Regiojet receives EVU approval in Germany

The Czech railway company Regiojet has received the permit (safety certificate) required to operate routes in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. Among other things, the establishment of a connection is planned from Budapest via Vienna and Salzburg to Munich.

This makes Germany, alongside Slovakia, Poland and Austria, the next foreign market in which RegioJet was certified. In concrete terms, this means that you are dependent on a partner EVU, but are also allowed to work with your own staff in Germany.

“RegioJet is certified for rail passenger transport in Austria. From March 2022, we will operate the routes to Vienna and Budapest entirely with our own resources on the basis of this certificate. We have now received the following certificate from the European Railway Agency (ERA), which will enable us to develop new routes not only with a destination in Germany, but also with further connections via Germany to Western Europe in the next few years," says Jakub Svoboda, Managing Director of Regiojet train operations.
