Rio de Janeiro: Unruly PAX fixed with tape

On December 29, 2023, tumultuous scenes occurred during boarding of American Airlines flight AA948, which was traveling from Rio de Janeiro (Galeao) to Miami. A man threatened loudly in Spanish.

According to official information, unruly PAX is said to have suffered a nervous breakdown for reasons that are still unclear. The crew and other passengers immediately intervened and held him - also with the help of adhesive tape - until law enforcement arrived. The incident was quickly resolved so that the Boeing 777-200 with registration N787AL was able to take off just 20 minutes late.
