The Russian Rostec Group wants to produce significantly more engines for the Sukhoi Superjet SSJ-100 machine type as quickly as possible. It is the Aviadvigatel PD-8 manufactured by the subsidiary United Engine Corporation.

This is to be achieved by doubling the number of test benches. Seven units have already been put into operation and five more are to follow in the near future. The aim is to be able to double the monthly production. With the PD-8 one wants to replace the PD-14, which contains numerous western components. In addition to the SSJ-100, it is also to be used on the Irkut MS-21 and the Beriew BE-200.
