The low-cost airline Ryanair has returned to the German airport Leipzig/Halle after a long absence. In the 2022/23 winter timetable, there will be three flights a week to London-Stansted and twice a week to Dublin.

The low coster was previously present between 2011 and 2019. They then withdrew for various reasons. Now the comeback is being celebrated at the East German airport. “Ryanair is starting the winter season with two new routes and our region is now directly connected to Dublin and London! This is the fastest and most convenient connection from Central Germany to Ireland and Great Britain. We are very pleased about these new direct flights and are convinced that they will be well received,” says Götz Ahmelmann, CEO of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG.
