Ryanair is expanding its Charleroi base

Low-cost airline Ryanair is expanding its base in Charleroi, Belgium, to 16 aircraft. At the same time, the group announced that five additional routes would be included. The larger Brussels-Zaventem Airport will only be approached from other bases.

Recently it became known that the base at the capital's airport remains permanently closed. Ryanair countered speculation that it would reopen in the 2023 summer flight schedule. Zaventem will not be removed from the route network, but there will still be no aircraft based here.

In Belgium, the focus is on the Charleroi base. 16 aircraft will be stationed there in the future. In the summer flight schedule 2023 one wants to fly to Cluj, Iasi, Asturias, Lodz and Nantes. Recently, Charleroi Airport the use of the toilet facilities is made subject to a charge, whereby only debit and credit cards can be paid for.
