The airline Cathay Pacific has agreed on the sale and leaseback of nine Airbus A320neo series aircraft with the leasing company Avolon. These are to be handed over to the Hong Kong-based aviation group in 2026 and 2027.

The transaction means Cathay Pacific sold the factory-ordered aircraft to Avolon before the takeover. The Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft are then leased from the last-mentioned company on a long-term basis. The airline wants to modernize its fleet with the new additions.
