The German tour operator Schauinsland offers its employees the opportunity to extend their annual leave as part of the “Workation” program. For this purpose, the employees should work at the holiday destination.

"For example, if you book Gran Canaria for four weeks, you can vacation there for two weeks and then work remotely for two more weeks," explains managing director Gerald Kassner, whose son Steffen Kassner had the idea for this program.

“We are always looking for ways to make jobs in our company even more attractive. So offering this modern way of working is a logical step,” explains Steffen Kassner. “In the tough competition for skilled workers, we have recently been able to assert ourselves as an attractive employer. I want to make sure now that it stays that way in the future.”

The tour operator also offers numerous other benefits to attract new employees, such as regular salary increases and additional benefits. It was only in November that the company announced that it would pay out the full amount of the inflation compensation bonus of 3.000 euros made possible by the federal government to all team members in order to support the employees in the currently difficult times. In the past year, the tour operator hired a total of almost 80 new employees and 10 apprentices. Due to the recent strong sales development, the travel provider wants to continue growing this year. There are currently more than 20 vacancies for the company location in Duisburg and for the Schauinsland travel agencies throughout Germany.
