Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp has lost a Boeing 737-800 based in Sudan. The carrier announced that they currently have no further information on the condition of the machine, but local photos show the total loss.

The Boeing 737-800 was badly damaged in Saturday's clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Reaction Forces and will probably have to be written off. The carrier has meanwhile evacuated the 36 employees who were working for Sun Air as part of an ACMI order.

According to Mavio News, the Maltese subsidiary SkyUp Malta has now registered the first Boeing 737-800 in the Republic of Malta's aviation register. It is expected that AOC and operating license will be issued shortly.
