A not everyday guest landed on Monday at the Rothenburg airfield. An Airbus A320, which was last in service with SmartLynx, started its last journey. The machine from the Elbe Flugzeugwerke was scrapped. Usable or valuable parts should be recycled.
This is the first job that the recycler will carry out at this location. There is a long way to go behind the arrival of the Airbus A320, as Elbe Flugzeugwerke signed a corresponding contract last year. The medium-haul jet is now being dismantled and usable parts are to be recycled. The rest is scrapped in the classic way.
The components intended for recycling are to be overhauled in Kodersdorf and then returned to Airbus. Elbe Flugzeugwerke works as a supplier for the European manufacturer. It is hoped to be able to receive further orders in the future so that in the future commercial aircraft can make their last trip to Rothenburg more often.
