Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Another solar system was recently put into operation at Stuttgart-Echterdingen Airport. This consists of 1.205 panels and is located on the roof of the P11 multi-storey car park.

With "STRzero", the airport company wants to reduce emissions from its operations to zero by 2040 at the latest. The STR becomes a solar airport. All suitable or upgradable roofs, open spaces and even part of the southern airport fence should be covered. The airport wants to increase its electricity yield from photovoltaics from the current 2,6 (2022) to around 20 gigawatt hours by 2040 and 30 gigawatt hours by 2050.
