A new collective employment agreement for cabin crew will come into force at Swiss airline on January 1, 2024. The employees accepted the negotiation result with a 79,1 percent majority.

The members of the Kapers union have approved the new collective employment agreement (GAV24) for the cabin crew of Swiss International Air Lines. With a voter turnout of 87,6 percent, the vote was accepted by 79,1 percent. Swiss and Kapers had already agreed on the new GAV at the beginning of November. In addition to higher wages, it also brings numerous improvements to working conditions and addresses the individual needs of the approximately 3500 cabin employees.

“I am very pleased that the GAV was so clearly accepted. For us, this is a clear sign that with the new contract we have created a basis with which we can successfully shape the future together. For us, this agreement is the last important milestone in the reconstruction after Corona. We are investing a total of around 200 million francs in our cabin employees over the next five years. They make an enormously important contribution to the success of Swiss, which is why I am pleased that we can significantly improve their working conditions with the new contract,” Dieter Vranckx, Managing Director of Swiss.
