Swiss is reacting to the landing bans imposed by the Federal Office for Civil Aviation and is suspending all passenger flights to and from Great Britain and South Africa until further notice.

The Lufthansa subsidiary announced on Monday that pure cargo flights will not be affected by the cancellation. Swiss recently offered flights to London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Manchester airports in Great Britain and Johannesburg in South Africa. Customers whose flights are canceled due to the current decision would be contacted by Swiss. Over the weekend, concern about the effects of the mutated coronavirus variant on the British Isles had grown steadily. The Swiss task force suspects that it has already arrived in the Alpine republic.
