Lastminute has won a new lawsuit against Ryanair in Switzerland: the Federal Supreme Court has upheld two judgments that allow the Swiss online travel agency to sell tickets for flights operated by the Irish low-cost airline. Ryanair responded by saying that the Swiss judgment has no effect under EU law.

The latest decision settles several complaints by Ryanair, all of which have been dismissed, and puts an end to a multi-year legal battle between the last-minute group and the Irish low-cost carrier in Switzerland. The federal court ruled that the tour operator did not infringe any intellectual property rights or contractual obligations towards Ryanair. The court also ordered Ryanair to pay Lastminute 49.000 Swiss francs (50.000 euros) in legal costs.

"This decision demonstrates that the Lastminute Group's activity as an online travel agency in connection with flights of this airline does not infringe any intellectual property rights or contractual obligations towards Ryanair," reads a Lastminute press release.
