The airline Tap Air Portugal and the city of Cascais have signed a contract to expand the training center at the municipal airport.

The expansion of the training infrastructure will take place in two phases. In the short term, the two existing flight simulators (Airbus A320 and A330) will be supplemented by a new Airbus A320 simulator. In a second step, four additional simulators can be installed in partnership with third parties, so that a total of seven simulators are then available. This achieves the goal of creating an aviation vocational training center in the municipality of São Domingos de Rana near Cascais, in which the TAP Academy plays an important role.

“The areas of training as well as maintenance and technology generate great added value. Carrying them out in our own country is also a signal of appreciation for our employees. At the same time, we have the opportunity to create new areas for the export of services instead of paying expensive money for them abroad. Cascais understood this opportunity perfectly,” says Luís Rodrigues, President of TAP.
