The great Annapurna circuit with global hiking

The “Great Annapurna Circuit” in Nepal is at the top of the wish list for many trekking enthusiasts. Is it the magical attraction that comes from the imposing 8000-meter peaks of the Himalayas or the diverse landscape of this species-rich mountain region?

Is it tempting to encounter a fascinating foreign culture or the sporting challenge of crossing a pass like the 5.416 m high Thorong La once in your life? It is probably the different facets, the contrasts and the many surprising, touching experiences that make this 21-day lodge trekking tour by the Nepal travel expert Weltweitwandern a special “once in a lifetime” experience.

The “Great Annapurna Circuit” classifies global hiking as “moderately difficult to demanding” - the trekking tour is therefore aimed at travelers who also train their fitness in everyday life. High mountain hikes with a walking time of at least four hours are on the program over 15 days. Thanks to the slowly ascending path at the beginning of the route, acclimatization to the altitude is achieved almost step by step. The tour offers many highlights: be it in the form of conquered altitudes, overwhelming natural scenes, great views or touching experiences. The global hikers cross the Thorong La Pass (5.416 m), reach Nepal's highest lake, Lake Tilicho (4.919 m) and visit the old royal cities of Bhaktapur and Kathmandu as well as the pilgrimage site of Muktinath. It goes through dense rhododendron forests, to small villages like Ghandruk, which is one of the most beautiful in the Himalayan state, and down into deep gorges. After the days of hiking in the mountains, the end of the trekking trip is a little more relaxed: the travelers treat themselves to a breather with a wellness touch at the thermal springs in Tatopani before their three-week Nepal experience finally ends in subtropical Pokhara on the banks of the idyllic Phewa Lake.

Weltweitwandern has an intensive and long-standing friendship with Nepal: The country in the Himalayas was one of the first that Weltweitwandern founder Christian Hlade visited a good 30 years ago - due to his close connection and love for the country and its inhabitants, it was also one of the first travel destinations which he included in the hiking trip program. These long-standing, good relationships with Nepal now enable global hikers to integrate special insights and exclusive experiences into their travel programs: hiking trips in small groups with loving details, led by locally rooted guides.

The 21-day lodge trekking tour “The Great Annapurna Round” offers global hiking on four selected dates in spring and autumn 2024 at a price starting at 1.990 euros/person without flights. The next date is March 8th - 28th, 2024. Alternatively, the “Annapurna compact” trip is offered with 16 days from € 1.750 / person, excluding flights. When planning and carrying out the trip, the travel specialist cooperates with his local partner; 70 percent of the travel price stays on site.
