Tyrol: Westbahn accepts VVT tickets

The Westbahn extended its existing route from Salzburg to Innsbruck on Sunday. Shortly before, an agreement was reached with the Verkehrsverbund Tirol, which means that association tickets will be recognised.

Almost all VVT tickets, with the exception of the Tagesticket2Plus and Euregioticket2Plus, will entitle you to travel on the trains of the private railway operator. This applies in particular to normal route tickets, student tickets, the Austrian climate ticket and the Tyrol climate ticket. Both VVT and Westbahn are pleased about the cooperation.

According to the Verkehrsverbund Tirol, the two tickets mentioned, which are not recognized by the Westbahn, are generally not valid for long-distance traffic, but only for local traffic. As a result, these are also not valid on ÖBB Railjets, Eurocity, Intercity, ICE and D trains.
