Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines is introducing suitcase-less fares in Economy Class effective May 11, 2022. The new tariff system is strongly reminiscent of that of the in-house cheap brand Anadolujet, but there are some significant differences.

In economy class, passengers can choose from Eco Fly, Extra Fly and Prime Fly. The first tariff only includes eight kilograms of hand luggage and meals on board. Extra Fly also includes 23 kilograms of checked baggage, standard seat reservation, more miles and rebooking for a fee. Prime Fly includes 30kg baggage allowance, free rebooking, same-day earlier flights, fast track, standard seat reservations and refunds for a fee.

There are also changes in business class, because two different tariffs are being introduced with Business Fly and Business Prime. The first price category includes two pieces of hand luggage with a maximum of eight kilograms, food and drinks on board, lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, standard seat selection and rebooking for a fee. In the Business Prime tariff, you can take 40 kilograms of luggage with you, can rebook free of charge, use an earlier flight on the same day and should receive a full refund in the event of cancellation.

Interestingly, the carrier initially only wants to introduce the new tariffs on flights between foreign countries and Turkey. For example, the model will be used from Vienna to Istanbul. For example, if you want to fly from Vienna via Istanbul to Dubai with Turkish Airlines, nothing should change for the time being. For the time being, the carrier does not apply the changed tariffs to bookings abroad via Turkey. However, it is to be expected that this could be carried out at a later date.
