UFO calls for higher wages for Cityline flight attendants

The flight attendant union UFO is demanding higher salaries for its members who fly with Lufthansa Cityline. There is also criticism that the once promised growth has not materialized or has been transferred to other AOCs in the Kranich group of companies.

What is required is a 15 percent increase in salary over a term of 18 months, a one-off payment of 3.000 euros and credit for flight service time for standby and reserve services.

“The cabin colleagues at Lufthansa CityLine have exercised restraint when it came to salaries for years, as this was always associated with promises from the employer of growth and job security. However, these promises were never fulfilled. The workforce is stagnating, growth is taking place in other AOCs in the Lufthansa Group and the newly founded and untariffed City Airlines is now threatening the jobs of CityLine colleagues. Last but not least, the CityLine team played a large part in the Lufthansa Group's current success, both during and after the pandemic. In our opinion, these points are enough for Lufthansa CityLine to finally recognize and reward this with appropriate remuneration,” explains Rachid Madmar, UFO tariff officer and UFO negotiator at Lufthansa CityLine.
