Uzbekistan: Air Samarkand has received AOC and operating license

The Uzbek startup Air Samarkand received an AOC and operating license from the local authorities on December 29, 2023. First, a demonstration flight was carried out.

Initially, the new company wants to offer charter flights. Over the course of this year, the company plans to enter the liner business and head to destinations in China, Asia and Turkey from Samarkand. Flights to Europe are planned for 2025. The fleet currently consists of a single Airbus A330-300. The fleet of two Airbus A321s, one of which is said to be a Neo model, has already been announced.
