In the conflict with Tuifly, the Cockpit Association has reached an agreement with the employer on mediation. The procedure is now being prepared quickly and carried out in February.
In the past few months, the VC had repeatedly reaffirmed its readiness to make far-reaching cuts in return for comprehensive protection against dismissal. Most recently, a crisis contribution with a volume of 200 million euros was on the table. “It is good that the standstill is finally over and that we can work on a solution again,” said Marcel Gröls, who is responsible for collective bargaining policy on the VC board. "We look forward to constructive discussions and are confident that management is as interested in an agreement as we are." The company's plans recently envisaged massively reducing the fleet and jobs at Tuifly. In the cockpits, around 50 percent of the workforce and thus up to 270 pilots are threatened with layoffs.
