KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has been flying from Amsterdam to Vienna for 85 years.
The carrier started its first flight between Amsterdam and Vienna on April 20, 1936. The route was part of the Blue Danube Express before World War II. KLM is the oldest airline still operating under its original name. VIE board member Julian Jäger also congratulates the Dutch airline on this special anniversary.
“KLM has been flying from Amsterdam to Vienna for 85 years and the airline has maintained this connection from the beginning of the Covid 19 crisis to the present day. Thank you very much for this long-term commitment and we congratulate KLM on its 85th track anniversary. We look forward to many more years of successful partnership and are confident that we will soon be able to welcome more passengers to Vienna again, ”said Jäger.
KLM currently offers two daily direct flights between Vienna-Schwechat and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The machines take off at 06:55 a.m. and 17:50 p.m. respectively.
