New arrival at Vienna Airport: Philipp Ahrens (44) has been Head of Center Management at Flughafen Wien AG since January 1 and is therefore responsible for the shopping and catering business at the airport.

The experienced aviation expert has been active in the aviation sector for over 24 years and brings with him extensive know-how in the areas of marketing, ground handling, operations, construction, retail and center management as well as at an international level. Most recently, the native German was responsible for the implementation of the “satellite terminal” at Terminal 2 and center management in the area of ​​commercial activities at Munich Airport. Ahrens succeeds Björn Olsson, who left Flughafen Wien AG at his own request to pursue new tasks.

Philipp Ahrens: Extensive aviation experience in Munich and Brussels

Philipp Ahrens has worked in aviation since 1996, including over 3,5 years at the Airport Council International (ACI) and 19 years at Munich Airport. There he worked, among other things, for marketing and acquisition in the field of ground handling, international consulting, as well as project manager for the implementation of the satellite terminal at Terminal 2 and most recently since 2016 as Vice President Center Management for the business of 220 shops, restaurants and service facilities. Since January 1, 2021, Philipp Ahrens has been Head of Center (Senior Vice President) at Flughafen Wien AG.
