The airport has to accept financial setbacks due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the training of the in-house specialist staff should not suffer from this.

"We are taking on responsibility here and will also be taking on new apprentices in 2021," emphasizes Airport Board Member Günther Ofner. Despite the currently difficult market conditions, VIE is committed to training its own specialists. There are currently 51 apprentices in the company. We are now looking for young employees for the professions “electrical and building technology”, “automotive technology”, “commercial vehicle technology and passenger car technology” as well as “ventilation and heating technology” and “metal technology”. The basic training is completed in the company's own training workshop, followed by specialist training in the respective specialist workshops, according to the Lower Austria. Applications are now being accepted; more information and application options are available on the airport website.
