The Australian pension fund IFM intends to significantly increase its stake in Flughafen Wien AG by making a mandatory offer, which the Management Board and Supervisory Board have advised not to accept. During the acceptance period, shareholder interest remained well below expectations.

Only a third of the shareholders responded to the Australians' offer. The management of Austria's largest airport said: "It is a gratifying vote of confidence for Vienna Airport that two-thirds of the free float shareholders did not accept IFM's purchase offer. This underlines that the free float shareholders believe in a further positive development of the company. This is also underlined by the good traffic development, which shows that the desire to travel is increasing again. Maintaining the stock exchange listing of Flughafen Wien AG is also an important basis for future good company performance. The company will do everything necessary to ensure this in the future as well.”
