The board of directors of Flughafen Wien AG is informed about Lufthansa's decision that the subsidiary will be equipped with ten Boeing 787-9, delighted. The airport assumes that this will also bring more long-haul capacity.

“This is good news for Vienna and Austria as a business and tourism location. The conversion and expansion of the long-haul fleet to include ten Boeing 787 Dreamliners will bring more long-haul capacity, more travel comfort and strengthen the Vienna Airport hub. The Boeing 787 is also one of the most modern and sustainable aircraft of today, the fuel consumption and thus the CO2 emissions are significantly lower than other aircraft models. We congratulate our home carrier on the modernization and expansion of the fleet,” said the Management Board members of Flughafen Wien AG, Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner, welcoming today's announcement by Austrian Airlines.
