Washington: Grand Caravan has to make an emergency landing on the highway

The Cessna 208B Grand Caravan with registration N1983X had to make an emergency landing on a highway near Washington-Dulles Airport on January 19, 2024.

The small passenger plane, which is in service with Southern Airways Express, had technical problems shortly after takeoff from Dulles. The pilot decided to make an emergency landing on a highway. This was successful because all seven passengers and the pilot were able to leave the Grand Caravan uninjured. The incident occurred in snowy weather conditions. Authorities have launched an investigation.
