Low-cost airline Wizz Air Malta held a lobby breakfast at the European Parliament on April 10, 2024. This was under the patronage of MP Marian-Jean Marinescu.

The aim of the event was to provide information about the airline's operations, safety protocols and future prospects. Numerous stakeholders should also be brought together. Wizz Air Hungary and Wizz Air Malta have so-called EU AOCs.

During the briefing, Wizz Air Malta's Managing Director and members of the operations team held comprehensive discussions on the airline's safety management system. Key topics included safety culture, fatigue management, mandatory and voluntary incident reporting, safety performance monitoring and implementation of safety objectives. Wizz Air Malta is under the direct supervision of EASA, which underlines the importance of working closely with the regulator to ensure safety and transparency in all areas of operations.

Diarmuid O'Conghaile, Managing Director of Wizz Air Malta, said: “At Wizz Air we are committed to ensuring the utmost safety for our passengers and crew. Our partnership with the European Parliament and EASA, based on mutual understanding and respect, underlines our commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards and standardizing processes in the industry. Through ongoing dialogue and collaboration with regulators, we remain vigilant in implementing and improving security measures. This ongoing collaboration strengthens our shared goal of promoting a safe aviation environment for all.”
