When it comes to being able to earn at least a little money in a crisis, airports and airlines get creative. Due to the currently low demand, the parking lot in London-Luton is not needed for passengers. Now the airport is quickly building a drive-in cinema.
This will open on April 28, 2021 and will initially be operated until May 21, 2021. Current films as well as classics are shown. Cooperation partner is NIghtflix. Snacks and drinks should be delivered directly to the car window.
London-Luton Airport is delighted with the new drive-in cinema, because it is hoped that it will bring life back to the airport. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, the offer from this airport has been greatly reduced. Both the Easyjet and Wizz Air UK homebases are located here.
“It's great to have Nightflix at the airport. Hosting the open air cinema is another way to contribute to the local community throughout the pandemic. Anyway, I've really missed the cinema in the last twelve months and can't wait to enjoy some classics with my family, ”said Mark Jennings, Head of Commercial Development at London Luton Airport.
