Eurowings Discover has been open for a few days AOC and operating license in the bag. Commercial flight operations are scheduled to begin at the end of July 2021. The D-AXGB is currently at Luqa Airport.
Lufthansa Technik Malta is preparing the Airbus A330 for the first commercial scheduled flight under the Eurowings Discover brand. The long-haul jet already has the full livery of the new Lufthansa offshoot. This is not a big new hit, but corresponds to the paintwork of Eurowings, only supplemented by the word “Discover”.
The Maltese Airport Luqa has been able to build up an important pillar in the field of aircraft maintenance over the past few decades. Lufthansa Technik, SR Technics and Medavia, among others, have settled here. Maintenance is carried out here for airlines from - almost - all over the world. Luqa is the only airport in the Republic of Malta. There is a heliport on the island of Gozo, but this one has definitely seen better days. There are currently specific considerations that the "GZM" gets a slope extensionso that, among other things, small private planes can land there.
