The low-cost airline Easyjet reported a sharp increase in new bookings immediately after the British government announced that entry for fully vaccinated people should be made easier from October 4, 2021.
Alicante, Mallorca and Faro are said to have been particularly popular. Easyjet is now launching additional flights to various beach destinations for October 2021. The carrier also writes in a broadcast that it has received many new bookings in the area of winter sports destinations.
From the United Kingdom, there are short-term flights to Turkey from London-Gatwick, London-Luton, Manchester, Liverpool and Bristol. One of the reasons for this is that this state is no longer on the “red list” of the traffic lights.
“Every time restrictions have been relaxed or lifted, we've seen some catching up to do and this is no exception. We have seen a huge surge in bookings since the government ditched the traffic light system, removed the pre-departure test, and removed popular summer sun travel destinations from the red list. we are offering even more flights to the most popular beach hotspots to meet this additional demand, ”said Sophie Dekkers, Chief Commercial Officer at Easyjet.
