Condor boss Ralf Teckentrup also expects that ticket prices will rise. This should be unavoidable, especially if fuel costs have risen sharply. Airlines would also have higher expenses due to the "Fit for 55" climate package.
In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the Condor manager said, among other things, that he expects flying to become much more expensive. However, summer holidays should “remain affordable for large parts of the population”.
“The flight is only part of the price of a package holiday of 700 or 800 euros. If it costs 20 euros more, that doesn't prevent bookings," Teckentrup told the FAZ. However, the Condor manager does not see an excessive price increase. Nevertheless, in the future people would have to put more money aside to be able to fly on vacation. Those who could not save so much would then complete shorter trips. The Condor managing director sees the climate protection measures, which are also being pushed by the European Union, positively.
