The Lufthansa Group will again charge rebooking fees for bookings in the Economy Light and Business Saver fare classes made after April 20, 2022. These should be at the level that was taken before the corona pandemic.
An existing sales communication shows, among other things, that on short and medium-haul routes in the Economy Light fare, expenses of 70 euros per one-way flight and person are charged for changes. On long-haul routes it is even 150 euros. In the future you can only change the travel date, but not the routing. For the time being, light tariffs that are used from North and Central America are excluded, as these cannot already be rebooked.
In the Business Saver tariff, there are also 70 euros per change on short-haul routes. The starting point and destination must also remain unchanged. Put simply, this means that if there are high corona numbers at the destination, you cannot switch to another destination.
The reintroduced rebooking fees apply to Lufthansa, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Air Dolomiti. Only Eurowings continues to waive these fees. However, it is to be expected that changes could also be communicated to low-cost airlines in the next few days or weeks.
