The low-cost airline Hisky Europe plans to fly four times a week between Bucharest and New York-JFK from June 7, 2024. The Airbus A330-200 widebodies will be used as aircraft.
Just recently the company accepted the first unit. If the announced connection actually takes place, it would be the first non-stop flights on this route in 20 years. Hisky originally planned to connect the Republic of Moldova and Romania to long-haul routes using a minihub to be built in Dublin. This plan was scrapped and instead opted for non-stop flights with Airbus A330-200.
